  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the power switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:


      • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

    3. While holding the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly with one hand, perform the following procedure.

        *a Lock Button
        B004RMI Push in this Direction

        Connect the airbag connector and push the lock button to lock.

        Note


        • When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

        • Make sure the lock button is securely locked.

        B004RMI Insert until Lock Engages

        Insert it until the hood lock control lever locks.

      3. Attach the claw to connect the DLC3.

      4. Attach the wire harness clamp.

      B004RMI Install in this Direction

      Attach the claw to install the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

    5. B004VNU

      Install the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }
    6. Check that there is no looseness in the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

  6. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

  7. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

  8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  9. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  10. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK
