B165B 2nd Seat Seat Belt Buckle Switch (RH)

DESCRIPTION

The seat belt buckle switch RH circuit consists of the airbag ECU assembly, pedestrian detection ECU assembly and rear seat inner belt assembly RH.

DTC B165B is stored when a malfunction is detected in the seat belt buckle switch RH circuit.

  • An airbag ECU assembly malfunction.

Note


  • After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  • When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal while performing repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  2. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    3. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the pedestrian detection ECU assembly and rear seat inner with center belt assembly RH.

  3. CHECK CONNECTORS

      Disconnect the connectors from the pedestrian detection ECU assembly and rear seat inner with center belt assembly RH.

    2. Check that the connectors (on the pedestrian detection ECU assembly side and rear seat inner with center belt assembly RH side) are not damaged.

      Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    4. Turn the power switch off.

    5. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    6. Using a service wire, connect terminals 18 (RBR+) and 17 (RBR-) of connector B.

      Note

      Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector when connecting a service wire.

    7. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    8. Disconnect the service wire from connector B.

    3. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    4. Clear the DTCs.

  6. REPLACE REAR SEAT INNER WITH CENTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    3. Replace the rear seat inner with center belt assembly RH.
