DESCRIPTION

The radio receiver assembly and multi-display controller sub-assembly are connected by GVIF cable.

When a GVIF cable error occurs between the radio receiver assembly and multi-display controller sub-assembly, this DTCs will be stored.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:

When replacing the radio receiver assembly, always replace it with a new one.

If a radio receiver assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the following may occur:


  • A communication malfunction DTC may be stored.

  • The radio receiver assembly may not operate normally.

Tip:

Depending on the parts that are replaced during vehicle inspection or maintenance, performing initialization, registration or calibration may be needed. Refer to Precaution for Audio and Visual System.

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here


      1. Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs


    2. Turn the power switch off.

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      1. Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes


      OK
      No DTCs are output.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER SUB-ASSEMBLY)

      Disconnect the G140 radio receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the L160 multi-display controller sub-assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G140-2 (GVO+) - L160-2 (GVI+) Always Below 1 Ω
      G140-1 (GVO-) - L160-1 (GVI-) Always Below 1 Ω
      G140-3 (GVG2) -L160-3 (GVG1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G140-2 (GVO+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G140-1 (GVO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G140-3 (GVG2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Replace the multi-display controller sub-assembly with a new or known good one.

    3. Turn the power switch off.

    4. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.
