    Electric parking brake operating

  • Malfunction Status:

    One of following is detected: motor lock, gear lock, stuck cable, cable cut

  • Parking brake cable (Parking brake with bracket actuator assembly)

  • Parking brake with bracket actuator assembly

  • Parking brake assembly

  • Wire harness or connector

  • Parking brake ECU assembly

 Yes An electric parking brake system malfunction is displayed on the multi-information display.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:

  • The electric parking brake may still operate up to 20 seconds after the power switch is turned off. Before disconnecting connectors or fuses, turn the power switch off and wait 20 seconds or more.

  • This DTC may be stored when the parking brake is forcibly released, but this is not a malfunction.

  • If the parking brake with bracket actuator assembly is replaced, perform the "Reset Memory" and "Acquire Tension Sensor Zero Point" procedures.

    1. Check that the parking brake cable is not cracked or stuck, and that it is correctly installed.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING BRAKE ECU ASSEMBLY - PARKING BRAKE WITH BRACKET ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Disconnect the L77 parking brake ECU assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the L78 parking brake with bracket actuator assembly connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L77-8 (TSEN) - L78-5 (TSEN) Always Below 1 Ω
      L77-8 (TSEN) or L78-5 (TSEN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L77-6 (TSN2) - L78-10 (TSN2) Always Below 1 Ω
      L77-6 (TSN2) or L78-10 (TSN2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L77-7 (VT) - L78-6 (VT) Always Below 1 Ω
      L77-7 (VT) or L78-6 (VT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L77-14 (TGND) - L78-1 (TGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      L77-14 (TGND) or L78-1 (TGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L77-10 (SG) - L78-2 (SG) Always Below 1 Ω
