REAR SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

Note

While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER INNER LH

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER INNER RH

  3. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

    Click here

  4. REMOVE SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE

      for LH Side:


      1. Disconnect the 2 cabin side skid control sensor wire connectors.

    2. B004RV7

      for RH Side:


      1. Disconnect the 2 cabin side skid control sensor wire connectors.

    3. B004UZG

      Disconnect the 2 grommets of the skid control sensor wire from the hole of the wheel house.

    4. Pull out the 2 skid control sensor wire connectors from the hole in the rear wheel house.

      Disconnect the absorber control actuator connector.

    6. Disconnect the height control sensor connector.

    7. Remove the 3 nuts and 3 sensor clamps.

      for LH Side:


      1. Disconnect the speed sensor connector from the speed sensor LH.

        Note


        • Be careful not to damage the speed sensor.

        • Prevent foreign matter from adhering to the speed sensor.

      2. Remove the bolt and sensor clamp.

      for RH Side:


      1. Disconnect the speed sensor connector from the speed sensor RH.

        Note


        • Be careful not to damage the speed sensor.

        • Prevent foreign matter from adhering to the speed sensor.

      2. Disconnect the pad wear indicator connector.

      3. Remove the bolt and sensor clamp.

    10. Remove the skid control sensor wire.

  5. REMOVE REAR SPEED SENSOR LH

      Remove the bolt and rear speed sensor LH from the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

      Note


      • The rear speed sensor is easily damaged. When pulling out the rear speed sensor from the rear axle hub LH, do not use excessive force to rotate and remove it.

      • Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.

      • Do not drop the sensor. If the sensor has been dropped, replace the sensor with a new one.
