PROCEDURE
CLEAN BACK WINDOW GLASS
When reusing the back window glass:
Using a gasket scraper, remove any remaining adhesive residue from the back window glass.
Note
Be careful not to damage the back window glass.
Clean the outer circumference of the back window glass with a non-residue solvent.
Note
Do not touch the back window glass surface after cleaning it.
Even if using a new back window glass, clean the windshield glass with a non-residue solvent.
INSTALL NO. 1 BACK WINDOW GLASS STOPPER (for 2-piece Type)
Install 2 new No. 1 windshield glass stoppers to the vehicle body.
Tech Tips
Only 2-piece type windshield glass stoppers are provided as supply parts. Use 2-piece type stoppers as replacements even if 1-piece type stoppers were originally installed.
INSTALL NO. 2 BACK WINDOW GLASS STOPPER (for 2-piece Type)
Apply the glass primer to the back window glass stopper installation surface of the back window glass.
Note
Do not apply too much primer.
Remove the peeling paper from a new back window glass stopper.
Tech Tips
After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

Install the 2 No. 2 back window glass stoppers to the back window glass as shown in the illustration.

Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more.

Align the light wire to the alignment mark shown in the illustration (ceramic protrusion) on the back window glass while and install it.

Apply the glass primer to the No. 1 back window moulding installation surface of the back window glass.

Remove the peeling paper from a new No. 1 back window moulding.

After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.
Install the No. 1 back window moulding to the back window glass as shown in the illustration.
Note
Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more.
Make sure the installation position of the No. 1 back window moulding is within a +/- 3 mm range.

Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
Tech Tips
Leave approximately of adhesive on the vehicle body.
Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with non-residue solvent.
Position the back window glass.
Using suction cups, place the back window glass in the correct position.
Check that the entire contact surface of the glass rim is perfectly even.

When using a new back window glass:
Place matchmarks on the back window glass and vehicle body at the locations indicated in the illustration.
Note
Check that the No. 2 back window glass stopper are attached to the No. 1 back window glass stopper correctly.
Tech Tips
When reusing the back window glass check and correct the match mark positions.
Using suction cups, remove the back window glass.
Using a brush or sponge, coat the body primer to the exposed part of the vehicle body.
Note
Do not apply too much primer.
Do not apply primer to the adhesive.
When applying the primer, take care of the seams of the panel and spot welds.
Using a brush or sponge, coat the glass primer as shown in the illustration.

Install the back window glass to the vehicle body.

Using suction cups, position the back window glass so that the matchmarks are aligned.
Note
Check that the No. 1 back window glass stopper and the No. 2 back window glass stopper are attached to the vehicle body correctly.
Check that the vehicle body and glass have a small gap between them.
Press it in gently along the rim.
Tech Tips
Press the glass with force of 98 N (10 kgf, 22.0 lbf) or more.
Using a gasket scraper, remove any excess or protruding adhesive.
Note
Apply adhesive as far as the edge of the back window glass.
Hold the back window glass using protective tape until the applied adhesive becomes hard.
Note
Do not drive the vehicle for the time described in the table below.

Connect the each connector.
CHECK FOR LEAK AND REPAIR
Conduct a leak test after the adhesive has completely hardened.
Seal any leaks with auto glass sealer.
Remove the protective tape and match mark.
