PCV VALVE INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL PCV VALVE


    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring.

      Note

      When reusing the PCV valve, inspect the O-ring.

      *a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length

      Using a ball joint lock nut wrench (22 mm), install the PCV valve to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.

      Torque
      Specified tightening torque
      5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf)

      Tech Tips


      • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

      • When using a ball joint lock nut wrench (fulcrum length of 150 mm (5.91 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 185 mm (7.28 in.)): 2.8 N*m (29 kgf*cm, 25 in.*lbf)

  2. CONNECT PCV HOSE


    1. Connect the PCV hose to the PCV valve, and slide the clip to secure hose.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Attach the clip and install the No. 1 engine cover to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.

    2. Attach the clamp and connect the engine wire to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.

    3. Install the bolt.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
