DESCRIPTION

The drive start control is controlled by the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly.

If the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly determines that the shift lever and accelerator pedal are operated abnormally, driving torque is restricted and, when necessary, a warning is displayed on the combination meter assembly and head up display*.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:

Even if the accelerator pedal position is maintained, the system output may increase when driving uphill and decrease when driving downhill. This is due to drive start control controlling the driving torque, and is not a malfunction.

    PAST ACTIVATION CONFIRMATION

    1. Check if the customer operated the vehicle in a way that would cause the drive start control to operate.

Tip: Drive Start Control Activation Conditions
      • Shift control
      • Activation conditions

      • Pattern A (When all of the following conditions are met, control starts.)

        • The accelerator pedal is open by approximately 1/5 or more.

        • The shift state is changed from park (P) to any forward shift state (drive (D) or manual (M)) or reverse (R).

      • Pattern B (When all of the following conditions are met, control starts.)

        • The accelerator pedal is open by approximately 1/5 or more.

        • B004V1GE07

The shift state is changed from reverse (R) to any forward shift state (drive (D) or manual (M)), any forward shift state (drive (D) or manual (M)) to reverse (R), or neutral (N) to reverse (R).

If the shift lever is moved to attempt to change the shift state from park (P) when the accelerator pedal is depressed, the shift state will not change and drive-start control will not operate.

      • Items Controlled

        • Driving torque is restricted.

      • Deactivation Conditions

        • The accelerator pedal is released.

        • The shift state is in park (P) or neutral (N).

      • Reverse control
      • Activation conditions

      • The shift state is in reverse (R).

      • B004RMSE05

The accelerator pedal is depressed excessively.

      • Items Controlled

        • Driving torque is restricted.

      • Deactivation Conditions

        • The accelerator pedal is released.

        • The shift state is changed to any shift state other than reverse (R).

      Tip:
      • The driving torque restricted level differs between pattern A, pattern B and Reverse control.

      • During reverse control or shift control, driving torque is adjusted based on the road gradient and steering angle.
