DTC SUMMARY

This indicates that a mechanical malfunction has occurred inside the hybrid transmission.

The cause of this DTC may be one of the following.


DESCRIPTION

The oil pump motor controller controls the rotation speed of the oil pump motor (three-phase brushless motor) in accordance with rotation speed request signals sent from the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly. The controller also outputs the oil pump motor status as a signal to the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly.

In the normal condition, the actual revolution speed of the oil pump motor corresponds to the allowable range of the rotation speed difference with respect to the required rotation speed requested from the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly.

The line pressure generated by the oil pump with motor assembly operation is used for the gear control.

The output shaft speed is within the speed difference permissible range of the motor speed in accordance with the gear ratio of each gear position commanded by the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly.

Note

This DTC is output based on the mechanical gear position inside the transmission. Therefore, check the "Current Calculated Gear Position" Data List item.

    Either condition is met:

  • Difference between the oil pump rotation speed requested by the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly and the actual rotation speed exceeds a specified value constantly for a specified time.

  • Difference in MG2 (motor) speed and output speed (SP2) exceeds the specified speed (the engine or the MG2 (motor) revs freely) constantly for a specified time with each gear.

*: When the motor is malfunctioning, a deviation may occur between the GTS motor speed command and the actual motor speed.

Tech Tips

After repair has been completed, clear the DTC and then check that the vehicle has returned to normal by performing the following All Readiness check procedure.

  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  2. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the GTS on.

  3. Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).

  4. Turn the power switch off and wait for 2 minutes or more.

  5. Turn the power switch on (READY).

  6. With the brake pedal depressed, move the shift lever to select shift position D.

  7. Stop the vehicle in EV mode for 20 seconds or more.

  8. While driving in EV mode (engine stopped), drive a few seconds with the accelerator pedal released slightly.

    CAUTION:

    Strictly observe posted speed limits, traffic laws and road conditions when performing this test.

  9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

  10. Check the DTC judgment result.

    Tech Tips


    • If the judgment result shows NORMAL, the system is normal.

    • If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.

    • If the judgment result shows INCOMPLETE or N/A, perform the normal judgment procedure again.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Read the DTCs using the GTS.
