FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL TIMING GEAR CASE OR TIMING CHAIN CASE OIL SEAL


    1. Apply MP grease to the lip of a new timing chain case or timing chain case oil seal.

      *a Oil Seal Protrusion Height

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the timing chain case or timing chain case oil seal until its surface is flush with the timing chain cover assembly edge.

      Oil Seal Protrusion Height
      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.) (From the edge of the timing chain cover assembly)

      Note


      • Keep the lip free from foreign matter.

      • Do not tap in the timing gear case or timing chain case oil seal at an angle.

      • Do not tap in the timing gear case or timing chain case oil excessively.

  2. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR KEY


    1. Install the crankshaft timing gear key to the crankshaft groove.

  3. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY ASSEMBLY


    1. Align the crankshaft timing gear key with the key groove of the crankshaft pulley, and slide on the crankshaft pulley assembly.

      *b Turn

      Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley assembly and install the crankshaft pulley set bolt.

      Torque:
      330 N*m  { 3365 kgf*cm, 243 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL OIL FILTER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. B000UDYC02
      B000XM7 Bolt
      B000TT4 Nut

      Install 2 new gaskets to the timing chain cover assembly.

    2. Install the oil filter bracket with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

    3. Install the oil filter bracket stay with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

    4. Connect the No. 2 water by-pass hose and No. 8 water by-pass hose and slide the 2 clips to secure them.

  5. INSTALL RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY

  6. INSTALL AIR CLEANER WITH ELEMENT ASSEMBLY RH

  7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER WITH ELEMENT ASSEMBLY LH

  8. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSSMEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  9. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSSMEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

  10. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

    Click here

  11. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

    Click here

  12. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

    Click here

  13. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER BAR
