DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and windshield wiper motor assembly communicate via LIN communication. The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) stores this DTC if communication becomes abnormal.

    Detection condition:

  • Battery voltage is 9.5 V or more


    Malfunction Status:

  • A malfunction in the communication or LIN communication line between the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and components of the wiper system occurs


    Malfunction Time:

  • 7 seconds or more 3 times consecutively


  • Windshield wiper motor assembly

  • Main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU)

  • Harness or connector

  • Rain sensor*

Note


  • The vehicle battery supplies power to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via the door control battery. Therefore, before performing this troubleshooting procedure, make sure to perform an on-vehicle inspection to confirm that the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) power source circuit is normal.*1

  1. CONFIRM MODEL


    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) - WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the K51 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    2. Disconnect the A31 windshield wiper motor assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      K51-3 (LIN3) or A31-2 (LIN) - Body ground*1 Always 10 kΩ Higher

  3. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

    1. Check for voltage and pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.

  4. CHECK RAIN SENSOR


    1. Disconnect the V4*1 or V5*2 rain sensor connector.


      • *1: for LHD

      • *2: for RHD

    2. Clear the DTCs.


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Clear DTCs
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for at least 10 seconds.

    4. Check for DTCs.

  5. CHECK WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the A31 windshield wiper motor assembly connector.

    2. Clear the DTCs.


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Clear DTCs
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for at least 10 seconds.

    4. Check for DTCs.


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Trouble Codes

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) - WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY AND RAIN SENSOR)


    1. Disconnect the K51 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    2. Clear the DTCs.


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Clear DTCs
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for at least 10 seconds.

    4. Check for DTCs.


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Trouble Codes
