    Note

    In the following table, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.

    Tech Tips

    Using the GTS to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

      		 "ON" is also displayed for this item when the ignition switch is ON.

      		 "OFF" is also displayed for this item when the ignition switch is ACC.

      • Rear door inside handle illumination light (No. 2 interior illumination light assembly)*4

      • Instrument panel ambient illumination light (Instrument panel light assembly)*5

      Interior Illumination Light

      Function that turns on the following lights:


      • Front door inside handle illumination light (No. 1 interior illumination light assembly)*3

      • Rear door inside handle illumination light (No. 2 interior illumination light assembly)*4

      • Instrument panel ambient illumination light (Instrument panel light assembly)*5

      		 OFF or ON Customized value is displayed -

  2. ACTIVE TEST

    Tech Tips

    Using the GTS to perform Active Tests allows relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests.


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / (desired system) / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test
      Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Illuminated Entry System Turns on the lights that are controlled by the illuminated entry system*1 OFF or ON

      w/ Room Light (for LED Type):

      Perform the Active Test with the door linked switch of the map light (roof console box sub-assembly) on and switches of the spot light assembly LH and RH off.

      w/ Room Light (for Bulb Type):

      Perform the Active Test with switch of the room light assembly in the DOOR position.
      Fr Foot Light Footwell light (No. 1 interior illumination light assembly)*2 OFF or ON

      Preconditions for using the Active Test to check dimmer controlled illumination:


      • Ignition switch ON

      • Shift lever is in any position other than P
      Relay for Interior Light Auto Cut Function DOME CUT relay OFF or ON

      When performing this Active Test, turn all the interior lights on.


      • OFF: DOME CUT relay on (interior lights turn on)

      • ON: DOME CUT relay off (interior lights turn off)
      Interior Illumination Light1 Instrument panel ambient illumination light (Instrument panel light assembly)*3 OFF or ON

      Preconditions for using the Active Test to check dimmer controlled illumination:


      • Ignition switch ON

      • Shift lever is in any position other than P
      Interior Illumination Light2

      • Front door inside handle illumination light (No. 1 interior illumination light assembly)*4

      • Rear door inside handle illumination light (No. 2 interior illumination light assembly)*5

      		 OFF or ON

      Preconditions for using the Active Test to check dimmer controlled illumination:


      • Ignition switch ON

      • Shift lever is in any position other than P
