The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during fuel pump assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  4. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

  5. REMOVE FUEL PUMP PROTECTOR

      Remove the bolt, nut and fuel pump protector.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR TUBE

      *1 No. 2 Fuel Vapor Feed Hose
      *2 Fuel Tube Sub-assembly
      *3 No. 2 Fuel Tube Sub-assembly
      *4 No. 3 Ventilation Hose
      *5 Vacuum Switching Valve Hose Assembly
      *6 No. 1 Air Hose
      *7 No. 1 Air Tube

      Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose from the No. 1 air tube.

    2. Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly and No. 2 fuel tube sub-assembly from the No. 1 air tube.

    3. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 3 ventilation hose from the No. 1 air tube.

    4. Remove the bolt (A) and disconnect the vacuum switching valve hose assembly from the No. 1 air tube.

    5. Remove the 2 bolts (B).

    6. Loosen the clamp, then disconnect the No. 1 air tube from the No. 1 air hose.

  7. DISCONNECT NO. 2 FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the No. 2 fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel pump assembly.

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    To prevent serious injury due to fuel spray from the high-pressure fuel lines, always discharge fuel system pressure before removing any fuel system components.

      Using a 17 mm union nut wrench, loosen the 2 union nuts of the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly.

    2. B005QBA

      Loosen the 2 bolts of the fuel pump assembly.

    3. Remove the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly and fuel pump assembly.

  9. REMOVE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the fuel pump assembly connector.

      Remove the 2 bolts and fuel pump assembly from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

      Remove the fuel pump lifter guide and fuel pump lifter assembly from the fuel pump assembly.

      Remove the O-ring from the fuel pump assembly.

      *1 Fuel Pump Spacer Gasket
      *2 O-ring

      Remove the fuel pump spacer gasket from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

    6. Remove the 2 O-rings from the No. 4 camshaft bearing cap.
