DESCRIPTION

The driving support ECU assembly receives yaw rate sensor signals from the airbag sensor assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) and brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) via CAN communication. If the driving support ECU assembly receives yaw rate sensor malfunction signals from the airbag sensor assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) or brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU), DTC C1A46 is stored.

C1A46 While the vehicle speed is 5 km/h (3 mph) or more, the driving support ECU assembly receives yaw rate sensor malfunction signals from airbag sensor assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) or brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) for approximately 10 seconds.

  • Vehicle stability control system

  • Airbag sensor assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor)

  • Brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU)

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note


  • When replacing the driving support ECU assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a driving support ECU assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the driving support ECU assembly will not match the information from the vehicle. As a result, a DTC may be stored.

  • First check the CAN communication system by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting. After checking that there are no malfunctions in the CAN communication system, proceed with troubleshooting Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (VSC SYSTEM)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Trouble Codes.

    5. Check for VSC system DTCs Click here.

      Vehicle stability control system DTCs are output B

      Tech Tips

      If the airbag sensor assembly (yaw rate and acceleration sensor) is malfunctioning, DTCs for the vehicle stability control system will be stored. Troubleshoot the vehicle stability control system first.
