DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the telematics transceiver detects an open or short in the manual (SOS) switch indicator (green) circuit of the manual (SOS) switch.

The manual (SOS) switch indicator (green) illuminates after the engine switch is turned on (IG).

If the telematics system is not active, the manual (SOS) switch indicator (green) will turn off.

If the telematics system is active, the manual (SOS) switch indicator (green) will blink while communicating with the call center.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 20 seconds.

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Remove the roof console box sub-assembly (manual (SOS) switch).

    2. Connect 2 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.

    3. Connect a positive (+) lead from batteries to terminal 7 (IND2) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 9 (GND3) of the roof console box sub-assembly (manual (SOS) switch) connector.

    4. Check if the manual (SOS) switch indicator (green) comes on.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER - ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH))


    1. Disconnect the H101 telematics transceiver connector.

    2. Disconnect the T11 roof console box sub-assembly (manual (SOS) switch) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      H101-12 (IND2) - T11-7 (IND2) Always Below 1 Ω
      H101-12 (IND2) or T11-7 (IND2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H101-26 (SIG-) - T11-9 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω

  5. REPLACE TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER


    1. Replace the telematics transceiver with a new one.
