VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:C1436

DTC Code DTC Name
C1436 Yaw Rate Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) receives signals from the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) via the CAN communication system.

The airbag sensor assembly has a built-in yaw rate and acceleration sensor and detects the vehicle's condition using 2 circuits (GL1, GL2).

If there is trouble in the bus lines between the acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) and the CAN communication system, DTC U0124 (Lost Communication with Lateral Acceleration Sensor Module) is set. These DTCs are also output when calibration has not been completed.

DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
C1436

Any of the following is detected:

  1. With the vehicle stationary, the yaw rate and acceleration sensor output value is not 0 °/s.

  2. Abnormal comparison value.

  • Improper yaw rate sensor (airbag sensor assembly) installation

  • Yaw rate sensor (airbag sensor assembly)

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

When replacing the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly), perform zero point calibration and store system information Click here.

PROCEDURE

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (YAW RATE SENSOR)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Select the Data List using the GTS Click here.

  2. CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) has been installed properly Click here.

      OK
The sensor should be tightened to the specified torque.
The sensor should not be installed in a tilted position.
