REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY(for Fixed Seat Type) REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed or replaced during the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly removal/installation are shown below.

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:


    • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  4. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH

    CAUTION:


    • When storing the rear seat airbag assembly LH, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

    1. B006GA7

      Remove the 3 hog rings and fold back the rear seatback cover.

    2. B006GJD

      Detach the wire harness clamp.

      Remove the nut and disconnect the strap.

      CAUTION:

      Do not reuse the nut.

      B006DHE Remove in this Direction

      Remove the 4 nuts and rear seatback panel LH.

      CAUTION:


      • Do not reuse the nut.

      • If the installation surface or surrounding area of the rear seat airbag assembly LH is deformed or damaged, replace the rear seatback pad sub-assembly with a new one.

    5. Remove the rear seat airbag assembly LH.
