ULTRASONIC SENSOR(for Rear) REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed or replaced during the rear ultrasonic sensor removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Hands Free Power Trunk Lid)

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Hands Free Power Trunk Lid)


    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Click here

      CAUTION:


      • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE NO. 3 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE

  5. REMOVE REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR

      Detach the claw and remove the rear corner ultrasonic sensor.

      Note

      Before removing the sensor, make sure to mark the sensor and rear bumper assembly so that each sensor can be returned to its original position.

  6. REMOVE REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER

    Tech Tips

    When removing the rear corner ultrasonic sensor retainer, heat the rear bumper assembly and rear corner ultrasonic sensor retainer using a heat light.


    1. Heat the rear bumper assembly and rear corner ultrasonic sensor retainer using a heat light.

      CAUTION:


      • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.

      • Touching the heat light may result in burns.

      • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

  7. REMOVE ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP

    Use the same procedure for the other ultrasonic sensor clip.

      Detach the claw and remove ultrasonic sensor clip.

  8. REMOVE REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR

    Use the same procedure described for the rear corner ultrasonic sensor.

  9. REMOVE REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the rear corner ultrasonic sensor retainer.

  10. REMOVE REAR ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP

    Tech Tips


    • Use the same procedure for the other rear ultrasonic sensor clip.

    • When removing the rear ultrasonic sensor clip, heat the rear bumper assembly and rear ultrasonic sensor clip using a heat light.


    1. Heat the rear bumper assembly and rear ultrasonic sensor clip using a heat light.
