STEERING WHEEL INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:

w/ VSC:

  • Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the battery connected and the ignition switch ON.

  • Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel assembly with the battery connected and the ignition switch ON.

  • Ensure that the steering wheel assembly is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH (TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY) (w/ Shift Paddle Switch)

    1. Engage the 5 guides to install the 2 shift paddle switches (transmission shift switch assemblies) with the No. 1 switch wire to the steering wheel assembly.

    2. Engage the guide.

    3. Install the 2 shift paddle switches (transmission shift switch assemblies) to the steering wheel assembly with the 2 screws.

  2. INSTALL ADJUSTABLE SPEED LIMITER SWITCH (CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH) (w/ Speed Limiter System)

  3. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE (w/ Speed Limiter System)

    1. Install the cruise control switch wire.

  4. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Steering Pad Switch)

  5. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

  6. INSPECT AND ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

      Matchmark

      Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft to install the steering wheel assembly.

    2. Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.

      50 N*m

      510 kgf*cm

      37 ft.*lbf

    3. Connect each connector to the spiral cable sub-assembly.

  8. CHECK STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT

  9. INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY
