IGCT relay stuck on (+B short):

IGCT relay is stuck on or a short to B+ exists. Power to the hybrid vehicle control ECU does not shut down when the power switch is turned off.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:

  • If auxiliary battery voltage is applied to the +B1 or +B2 terminal in the hybrid vehicle control ECU even when the power switch is turned off, a short to B+ exists.

  • After the repair, clear the DTCs and perform the following procedure to check that DTCs are not output.

    1. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 15 seconds or more.

    2. Turn the power switch off and wait for 30 seconds or more.

PROCEDURE

  1. INSPECT IGCT RELAY

    1. Remove the IGCT relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block and junction block assembly.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Install the IGCT relay.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - NO. 2 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK AND JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)

    1. Disconnect the A66 and A65 hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

    2. Remove the IGCT relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block and junction block assembly.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
