ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM Security Indicator Light Does not Blink

DESCRIPTION

• The certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) blinks the security indicator light when the immobiliser is set (power switch off, or driver door is opened and closed with power switch on (IG)).

• w/ Theft Deterrent System:

  The certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) receive the security indicator light signal from the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via CAN communication when the theft deterrent system is arming preparation state or alarm sounding state. Then, certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) blinks the security indicator light.

2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT)

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3. Turn the GTS on.

   4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Entry&Start or Main Body / Active Test.

   5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

   1. Disconnect the L27 combination meter sub-assembly (meter circuit plate) connector.

   2. Disconnect the L197 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

   3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

   1. Disconnect the L27 combination meter sub-assembly (meter circuit plate) connector.

   2. Disconnect the 2A instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

   3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

6. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly Click here.

      

   2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

   3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Tech Tips

      This inspection is to check the LIN line in the instrument panel junction block assembly that connects the wire harness to the built-in main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

10. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS

    
    

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Entry&Start / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.
