  1. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the front pipe to the pipe support.

    2. Install a new gasket and the front pipe to the exhaust manifold.

    3. Install the front pipe with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      62 N*m  { 632 kgf*cm, 46 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the front pipe to the pipe support.

    2. Install 2 new gaskets and the front pipe to the exhaust manifold.

    3. Install the front pipe with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      62 N*m  { 632 kgf*cm, 46 ft.*lbf, for nut }
      48 N*m  { 489 kgf*cm, 35 ft.*lbf, for bolt }

      Note

      Do not reuse the gasket.

  3. INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. A01DWJ9

      Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression spring.

      Minimum length
      40.5 mm (1.5945 in.)

      If the free length is less than the minimum, replace the compression spring.

    2. Install the center pipe to the 3 pipe supports.

    3. Install a new gasket to the front exhaust pipe.

      Tech Tips

      Using a plastic-faced hammer, uniformly strike the gasket so that the gasket and front exhaust pipe fit properly.

      Note


      • A01DYGME02

        Be careful with the installation direction of the gasket.


      • Do not reuse the gasket.


      • To ensure a proper seal, do not use the tailpipe to force the gasket onto the front exhaust pipe.

    4. Install the exhaust pipe with the 2 bolts and 2 springs.

      Torque:
      43 N*m  { 438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install a new gasket on the center exhaust pipe.

    2. Install the tailpipe with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      48 N*m  { 489 kgf*cm, 35 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not reuse the gasket.

  5. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)

    1. Using SST, install the sensor to the front exhaust pipe.

      Torque:
      40 N*m  { 408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf, for use with SST }
      44 N*m  { 449 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf, for use without SST }

      Tech Tips

      Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 30 cm (11.81 in.).

    2. Connect the sensor connector.

  6. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)

    1. Using SST, install the sensor to the front exhaust pipe.

      Torque:
      40 N*m  { 408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf, for use with SST }
      44 N*m  { 449 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf, for use without SST }

      Tech Tips

      Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 30 cm (11.81 in.).

    2. Connect the sensor connector.

  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  8. CHECK FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAKS

    If gas is leaking, tighten the areas necessary to stop the leak. Replace damaged parts as necessary.

  9. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

      Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
