DESCRIPTION

The engine oil pressure switch assembly is installed to the cylinder head sub-assembly. The engine oil pressure switch assembly detects the engine oil pressure.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the engine oil pressure is abnormal. If the engine oil pressure is high when the engine is stopped, the ECM will determine that a malfunction is detected in the engine oil pressure switch circuit, illuminate the MIL and store this DTC.

PROCEDURE

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (STATUS OF ENGINE OIL CONTACT)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Status of Engine Oil Contact.

      Powertrain > Engine > Data List

      Tester Display

      Status of Engine Oil Contact

    5. Read the Data List while ignition switch to ON and engine running.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY - ECM)

    1. Disconnect the engine oil pressure switch assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Replace the engine oil pressure switch assembly.

  5. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P0521)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs

    5. Turn the ignition switch off and wait for a few minutes.

    6. Perform the drive test.

    7. Turn the GTS on.

    8. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.

    9. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes
