AIR PUMP (w/ Secondary Air Injection System) REMOVAL


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the MAF meter connector.

    2. Loosen the hose clamp.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner.

  3. REMOVE AIR PUMP INLET

      Remove the bolt from the radiator tank upper.

    2. Disconnect the hose from the air pump inlet pipe.

  4. DISCONNECT NO. 4 AIR HOSE


    1. Disconnect the hose from the clamp.

    2. Loosen the 2 clamps and disconnect the No. 4 air hose.

  5. REMOVE AIR PUMP PIPE

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 claws from the body panel and inlet pipe.

    3. Remove the bolt and inlet pipe.

  6. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL UPPER


    1. Remove the 6 clips and apron seal.

  7. REMOVE AIR PUMP ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET

      Disconnect the No. 3 hose from the inlet pipe.

    2. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the No. 2 hose from the inlet pipe.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts and pump.

  8. REMOVE AIR PUMP COVER


    1. A01DYRT

      Using a clip remover, detach the 3 clips and remove the pump cover.

  9. DISCONNECT NO. 2 AIR HOSE

      Remove the clamp from the No. 2 hose.

    2. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the No. 2 hose from the pump.

  10. DISCONNECT NO. 3 AIR HOSE


    1. Disconnect No. 3 hose from the pump.

  11. REMOVE AIR PUMP ASSEMBLY

      Remove the pump from the bracket with air pump insulator.
