OIL PUMP REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL ENGINE TO ENGINE STAND

  2. REMOVE TIMING BELT

  3. REMOVE REAR CYLINDER BLOCK COVER

  4. REMOVE OIL FILTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Using SST, remove the oil filter sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE

      Remove the 2 bolts and engine oil level dipstick guide.

    2. Remove the 2 O-rings from the engine oil level dipstick guide.

  6. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 13 bolts.

      Insert the blade of an oil pan seal cutter between the oil pan sub-assembly and No. 2 oil pan sub-assembly. Cut through the applied sealer and remove the No. 2 oil pan sub-assembly.

      Note:

      Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the oil pan sub-assembly and No. 2 oil pan sub-assembly.

  8. REMOVE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 14 bolts.

      Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver, remove the oil pan sub-assembly by prying between the cylinder block sub-assembly and oil pan sub-assembly.

      Note:

      Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the oil pan sub-assembly or cylinder block sub-assembly.

      Tip:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Remove the O-ring from the oil pan sub-assembly.

  9. REMOVE OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY

      Loosen the 2 bolts.

      Remove the oil pump assembly, oil pump drive gear and oil pump chain.

      Remove the oil pump assembly from the oil pump chain.

    4. A325583

      Remove a O-ring from the oil pump assembly.
