OIL PUMP REMOVAL

PROCEDURE
INSTALL ENGINE TO ENGINE STAND
REMOVE TIMING BELT
REMOVE REAR CYLINDER BLOCK COVER
REMOVE OIL FILTER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Using SST, remove the oil filter sub-assembly.

REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE

Remove the 2 bolts and engine oil level dipstick guide.
Remove the 2 O-rings from the engine oil level dipstick guide.

REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD
REMOVE NO. 2 OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

Remove the 13 bolts.

Insert the blade of an oil pan seal cutter between the oil pan sub-assembly and No. 2 oil pan sub-assembly. Cut through the applied sealer and remove the No. 2 oil pan sub-assembly.
Note:Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the oil pan sub-assembly and No. 2 oil pan sub-assembly.

REMOVE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

Remove the 14 bolts.

Protective Tape
Using a screwdriver, remove the oil pan sub-assembly by prying between the cylinder block sub-assembly and oil pan sub-assembly.
Note:Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the oil pan sub-assembly or cylinder block sub-assembly.
Tip:Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

Remove the O-ring from the oil pan sub-assembly.

REMOVE OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY

Loosen the 2 bolts.

Remove the oil pump assembly, oil pump drive gear and oil pump chain.

Remove the oil pump assembly from the oil pump chain.

Remove a O-ring from the oil pump assembly.
