HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM Pattern Select Switch Power Mode Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When selecting PWR mode, the POWER mode switch (combination switch assembly) operation signal is sent to the ECM. Following this, the drive torque is optimally controlled to obtain a sporty feel in response to the driver's acceleration operation.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING GTS (CAN BUS CHECK)

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3. Enter the following menus: System Select / CAN Bus Check.

      Result

      Result Proceed to All of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed. A None of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed, or some of them are not displayed. (w/ Central Gateway ECU) B None of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed, or some of them are not displayed. (w/o Central Gateway ECU) C

   4. Turn the power switch off.

2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK)

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3. Enter the following menus: System Select / Health Check.

   4. Check DTCs.

      Result

      No DTCs are output.	A
      DTCs are output.	B

   5. Turn the power switch off.

3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (INDICAT. LAMP ECT PWR)

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test / Indicat. Lamp ECT PWR.

   4. Perform the "Indicat. Lamp ECT PWR" Active Test.

      OK
      The POWER mode indicator light comes on or blinks.

4. READ VALUE USING GTS (PATTERN SWITCH (PWR/M))

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Pattern Switch (PWR/M).

   4. Read the value displayed on the GTS.

5. CHECK POWER MODE SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

   
   

   1. Remove the POWER mode switch (combination switch assembly).

   2.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 8 (PWR) - 3 (E) POWER mode switch (combination switch assembly) being pushed and held Below 1 Ω POWER mode switch (combination switch assembly) not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

   3. Install the POWER mode switch (combination switch assembly).

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MODE SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) - BODY GROUND)

   
   

   1. Disconnect the L143 POWER mode switch (combination switch assembly) connector.

   2.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition L143-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

   3. Reconnect the L143 POWER mode switch (combination switch assembly) connector.

   REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

   OK

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - POWER MODE SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY))

   
   

   1. Disconnect the A57 ECM connector.

   2. Disconnect the L143 POWER mode switch (combination switch assembly) connector.

   3.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A57-46 (PWMS) - L143-8 (PWR) Always Below 1 Ω A57-46 (PWMS) or L143-8 (PWR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

   4. Reconnect the L143 POWER mode switch (combination switch assembly) connector.

   5. Reconnect the A57 ECM connector.
