OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR REASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure described below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL OUTER MIRROR RETRACTOR


    1. A005BZE

      Pass a new wire harness through a new frame sub-assembly.

    2. A005E4O

      Connect the connector.

    3. A005C95

      Temporarily install the frame sub-assembly with the guide as shown in the illustration.

    4. A005CAS

      Install the frame sub-assembly with the 2 screws.

    5. A005BIR

      Connect the 2 connectors.

    6. Engage the clamp.

    7. A005BTO

      Install the mirror actuator with the 3 screws.

    8. A005CQJ

      Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, install the base with 3 new screws.

      Torque:
      3.6 N*m  { 37 kgf*cm, 32 in.*lbf }

      Note

      When installing the base, check that the wire harness is not caught between the base and housing. Failure to do so may cause a short circuit.

      Adjust the wire harness so that the marking is at the position shown in the illustration.

    10. Engage the clamp.

    11. A005BAJ

      Engage the 3 guides and 2 claws.

    12. A005AET

      Engage the 3 claws and install a new lower cover as shown in the illustration.

    13. A005CLS

      Install a new gasket.

    14. A005ETS

      Wind vinyl tape around the wire harness to secure it.

      Note

      If the vinyl tape is wrinkled, water may run down the wire harness and enter the vehicle. Make sure to wind the vinyl tape properly.

      Connect each connector with the adapter.

      Route the longer wire harness as shown in the illustration.

      Wind vinyl tape around the wire harness to secure it.
