FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY(for Manual Seat) REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during front seat assembly RH removal/installation are shown below.

  • Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

Note

If the front seat airbag assembly RH has been deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly RH, front seatback frame sub-assembly RH, separate type front seatback pad and separate type front seatback cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the front seat headrest assembly from the front seat assembly RH.

  4. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER RH


    1. Operate the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly RH to the rearmost position.

      Disengage the 2 claws to remove the front outer seat track bracket cover RH.

  5. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER RH

      Disengage the 2 claws to remove the front inner seat track bracket cover RH.

  6. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER RH


    1. Operate the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly RH to the foremost position.

      Disengage the 2 claws and guide to remove the rear outer seat track bracket cover RH.

  7. REMOVE REAR INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER RH

      Disengage the 2 claws and guide to remove the rear inner seat track bracket cover RH.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH


    1. B004MSL

      Using a T50 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the front seat assembly RH.

    2. Operate the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly RH to the rearmost position.

      Using a T50 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the front seat assembly RH.

    4. Operate the vertical adjusting handle RH and move the front seat assembly RH to the uppermost position.

    5. Operate the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly RH to the center position.

    6. Operate the reclining adjuster release handle RH and move the seatback to the upright position.

    7. Disconnect the front seat airbag assembly RH connector under the front seat assembly RH.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

        Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

      2. Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector.

        Note

        Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting the connector.

    8. Disconnect each connector and disengage each clamp under the front seat assembly RH.

      Remove the front seat assembly RH.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
