THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM Glass Breakage Sensor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) detects that the glass breakage sensor (back door glass) is broken, the theft deterrent system switches from the armed state to the alarm sounding state.

Before replacing the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), refer to Service Bulletin.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (SEALED GLAS BRAK SEN)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

  2. INSPECT GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR (BACK DOOR GLASS)


    1. Inspect the glass breakage sensor (back door glass).

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU - GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR (BACK DOOR GLASS))


    1. Disconnect the F15 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    2. Disconnect the S12 glass breakage sensor (back door glass) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F15-7 (GPBS) - S12-2 (SSR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      F15-7 (GPBS) or S12-2 (SSR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR (BACK DOOR GLASS) - BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the S12 glass breakage sensor (back door glass) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S12-1 (SSR-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
