CAMSHAFT INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING SPROCKET ASSEMBLY

    1. A320144C02

      *a

      Straight Pin

      *b

      Key Groove

Fit the camshaft timing sprocket assembly and camshaft together with the straight pin and key groove misaligned as shown in the illustration.

    2. Turn the camshaft timing sprocket assembly clockwise while pushing it gently toward the camshaft. Push further at the position where the straight pin fits into the key groove.

      Note:

Do not forcibly push in the camshaft timing sprocket assembly. This may cause the straight pin tip to damage the installation surface of the camshaft timing sprocket assembly.

    3. Temporarily install the camshaft timing sprocket assembly with the bolt.

    4. Make sure that the camshaft timing sprocket assembly gear is locked.
