CAUTION:

When disposing of an HV battery, make sure to return it through an authorized collection agent who is capable of handling it safely. If the HV battery is returned via the manufacturer specified route, it will be returned properly and in a safe manner by an authorized collection agent.

Tip:

After the repair, clear the DTCs and perform the following procedure to check that DTCs are not output.

  1. Drive the vehicle for approximately 10 minutes according to the freeze frame data items "Vehicle Spd", "Temp of Batt TB1 to TB6", "Inhaling Air Temp", "Ambient Temperature" and "Power Resource IB".

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes

      Result

      Proceed to

      P3000-603 only is output.

      DTCs other than P3000-603 are also output.

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    DTCs other than P3000-603 are also output.

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM)

    P3000-603 only is output.
  2. CLEAN BATTERY COOLING BLOWER FILTER

      Check the HV battery cooling system intake port for blockage.

      Tip:

      If anything is blocking the HV battery cooling system intake port, remove it.

    2. Clean the battery cooling blower filter.

  3. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA (HYBRID CONTROL)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Read the freeze frame data of DTC P3000-603.

  4. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA (HYBRID CONTROL)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Read the freeze frame data of DTC P3000-603.

      Note:

      Although freeze frame data is recorded before and after a DTC is stored, for this step it is only necessary to read the freeze flame data recorded at "0s" (when the DTC was stored).

    5. Turn the power switch off.

  5. READ VALUE USING GTS

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / "Temp of Batt TB1 to TB6".

    4. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List and check that the value of each "Temp of Batt TB1 to TB6" is 40°C (104°F) or less.

      Tip:

      If the value of any of "Temp of Batt TB1 to TB6" is more than 40°C (104°F), turn the power switch off and wait until the values to decrease to 40°C (104°F) or less before continuing this procedure.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / "Battery Block Vol - V01 to V17".

    6. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List and check the value of each "Battery Block Vol-V01 to V17" with the power switch on (IG).
