DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) measures the speed of each wheel by receiving signals from the speed sensors. These signals are used for recognizing whether all 4 wheels are operating properly. Therefore, all wheel signals must indicate the same speed.

Either condition is met:


  • The diameter of the 2 front wheels is different from the diameter of the 2 rear wheels.

  • A wheel speed sensor is faulty.


  • Tire and wheel size

  • Tire deformation

  • Skid control rotor

  • Speed sensor

  • Speed sensor circuit

  • Skid control ECU (Brake actuator assembly)

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Check if any DTCs relating to the speed sensor circuit are output Click here.

      DTC is output B

  2. CHECK TIRE SIZE


    1. Check the tire size and condition of all 4 wheels.

      OK
      All 4 tires are the same size and in the same condition.

    NG
    OK
  3. RECONFIRM DTC


    1. Clear the DTC Click here.

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    3. Start the engine.

    4. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 30 km/h (18 mph) or more for at least 30 seconds.

    5. Check if the same DTC is output.
