OUTLINE
Lightweight and Highly Rigid Body
High-strength steel and ultra high-strength steel are used in order to achieve excellent body rigidity and a lightweight body.
Rust-resistant Body
Rust-resistant performance is enhanced by the extensive use of anti-corrosion sheet steel, as well as by an anticorrosion treatment that includes the application of anti-rust wax, sealer and anti-chipping paint to the easily corroded parts such as the hood and fender.
Safety Features
The impact absorbing structure minimizes cabin deformation by effectively helping to absorb the impact energy in the event of a front or side collision. This provides high performance occupant protection.
Aerodynamics
Various types of airflow routing parts that control airflow are provided to ensure excellent aerodynamic performance.
Low Vibration and Low Noise Body
Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressant materials reduces engine, wind and road noise.
MAIN FEATURES
Exterior Design
Front View
The contrast between the thick lower bumper and the thin upper area comprised of the upper grille and headlights expresses both toughness and a refined taste.
By making best use of the good stance created by the protruding flares, a planted feel is expressed.
Figure 1. Front View 1 (The illustration shows an example)
The movement from both sides of the upper grille toward the under grille creates a trapezoidal shape that further emphasizes the stable stance.
A wide and vigorous expression is given by creating a construction that appears as if bars are passing through from the upper grille to the headlights. Also, a sense of unity is given between the headlights and grille expressing refinement and emotion.
Figure 2. Front View 2 (The illustration shows an example)
The precise mechanical design and the vigorous appearance express toughness and innovation. On models with LED headlights, the LED low beams and daytime running lights/clearance lights further emphasize the sharpness and innovation.
An aluminized extension (*b in illustration) and black extension (*a in illustration) are used expressing a modern appearance.
The model name "HILUX" (*c in illustration) has been used on the aluminized extension for a better appearance.

Side View
For the lower part of the body, thickness is given to the powerful concave and convex door cross section to express toughness. Furthermore, the high axis that passes from the front to the rear gives a sense of protection and power.
The cabin silhouette that flows to the rear and the rearward inclined angle of the rear edge of the side window graphic express side visibility while also showing dynamism.
Figure 5. Side View 1 (The illustration shows an example)
The wheel flares give a seamless movement that is fused with the vehicle body while also protruding strongly expressing a refined emotion not seen in conventional trucks.
Figure 6. Side View 2 (The illustration shows an example)
The exterior design of the narrow body model pursues maximum toughness and emotion through its limited body size while maintaining the same principal goal as the wide body model.
Figure 7. Side View 3 (The illustration shows an example)
The exterior design of the single cab model and smart cab model pursues the optimal toughness and emotion suitable for their cab type by creating a smoother rear wheel flare that utilizes the longer deck, etc. while maintaining the same principal goal of the double cab model.
Figure 8. Side View (Smart Cab: The illustration shows an example)
Figure 9. Side View (Single Cab: The illustration shows an example)
Rear View
The design of the volume on the shoulder area thoroughly passes to the rear expressing emotion all the way to the deck in order to give a differentiation from competitors.
The design that spans between the cab and deck takes continuity into consideration giving it a refined image.
The cross section of the tailgate is made of convex and concave surface in the same way as the side expressing toughness. Also, the clear layout of the rear combination light produces a smart design. As a result, a sense of security and trust in consideration of functionality is expressed even within the emotion.
Figure 10. Rear View (The illustration shows an example)
The J-deck uses a rail and hook construction and large hook and latch handle while also aiming for an emotional feeling in the same way as the A-deck to give appeal to its toughness while also improving functionality.
Figure 11. J-deck (The illustration shows an example)

The rear combination lights express functionality and innovation through the precise mechanical design and clear construction.
The longer side view and a bigger design express the tough appearance. Also, a tougher look is given through the black extension (*a in illustration).

Roof
In order to improve on fuel economy, the roof has been lowered in areas where there is no effect on the head clearance, a pagoda roof (*a in illustration) is used to increase the roof panel rigidity while also reducing air resistance, and the rear end of the roof (*b in illustration) has been optimized for aerodynamics.
The bead for weight reduction has been stylized creating a clean and modern roof shape.
Figure 13. Roof (The illustration shows an example)
Surface
Both strength and glossiness that exceeds expectations of a conventional pickup truck are achieved expressing the pursuit of toughness and emotion.
A refined design which does not give any sense of the limitation of the design due to sharing between the wide and narrow cab variations which are characteristic of pickup trucks. The contrast between the surface with organic movements created through the smooth and dynamic fusion of the strong concave and convex surface and the geometric hard surface carved out of that expresses glossiness and strength.
The flare construction of the wide body model uses an integrated over fender panel and a design not seen by competitors, with movement that is fused with the vehicle body. As a result, a new refined toughness and quality seen in a passenger car are expressed.

Steel Front Bumper (Models for G.C.C. Countries)
The skid plate on the bottom edge of the bumper is given a free-floating shape and more clearly displays the trapezoid shape running from the upper grille to the under grille, emphasizing the vehicle's stable stance (A in the illustration).
The bumper uses a shape that kicks up toward the corners to achieve a silhouette that is functional regarding road interference (B in the illustration).
The upper opening of the bumper appears to connect with the upper grille, giving the impression that the upper grille is bigger, despite being the same as those used for normal bumpers. As a result, a tougher image is produced when compared with normal bumpers (C in the illustration).
