REAR SHOCK ABSORBER REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:

  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  2. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER CAP

    1. Remove the rear shock absorber cap.

  4. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSOBER CUSHION RETAINER

      Jack

      Support the spring seat of the rear axle beam assembly using a jack and wooden block.

      CAUTION:

      Do not jack up the rear axle beam assembly too high as the vehicle may fall.

      Note:

      Keep supporting the rear axle beam assembly with a jack until the installation of the rear shock absorber assembly is completed.

    2. C302552

      Secure the rear shock absorber assembly rod and remove the 2 nuts.

    3. Remove the rear shock absorber cushion retainer.

  5. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION SUPPORT

    1. Remove the rear suspension support.

  6. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY

    1. C302553

      Remove the bolt and rear shock absorber assembly with rear suspension support assembly and rear suspension support stopper while compressing the rear shock absorber assembly.

  7. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION SUPPORT STOPPER

    1. Remove the rear suspension support stopper from the rear shock absorber assembly.

  8. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION SUPPORT ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the rear suspension support assembly from the rear shock absorber assembly.
