FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS
The wiper and washer system consists of the following parts:

| Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly | Outputs the switch position signal to the front wiper motor and link assembly and the windshield washer motor and pump assembly. |
| Front Wiper Motor and Link Assembly | Activates the front wiper arm and blade assembly in accordance with position signal of the windshield wiper switch assembly. |
| Windshield Washer Motor and Pump Assembly | Sends the washer fluid to the washer nozzle sub-assemblies in accordance with the signal from the windshield washer switch. |
The headlight cleaner system consists of the following parts:

| Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly | Outputs the switch position signal to the headlight cleaner control relay. |
| Headlight Relay | Sends the headlight low beam illumination signal to the headlight cleaner control relay. |
| Headlight Cleaner Control Relay | Receives the signals from the windshield wiper switch assembly and the headlight relay, and controls the headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly. |
| Headlight Cleaner Motor and Pump Assembly | Sends the washer fluid to the headlight washer actuator sub-assemblies in accordance with the signals from the headlight cleaner control relay. |
| Headlight Washer Actuator Sub-assembly LH, RH | Sprays the washer fluid sent by the headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly onto the headlights. |
SYSTEM CONTROL
Washer-linked Wiper
If the windshield wiper switch is set to off and the windshield washer switch is turned on for approximately 0.05 seconds or more while the ignition switch is on, the wipers start operating in low speed at the same time as the washer fluid is sprayed.
The wipers operate for approximately 2 seconds in low speed after the windshield washer switch is turned off.
Headlight Cleaner
When the ignition is on and the headlights are lit, turning the windshield washer switch on to approximately 0.6 seconds or more will activate the headlight cleaner.
CONSTRUCTION
Washer Nozzle Sub-assembly
The diffuser type washer nozzle sub-assembly sprays the washer fluid over a wide area by spraying it in a fan shape.
