REAR SHOCK ABSORBER REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:
  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the deck trim side panel assembly LH (Click hereClick here).

  2. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  3. REMOVE REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (w/ HID Headlight)

  4. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER CUSHION RETAINER

      Support the spring seat of the rear axle beam assembly using a jack and wooden block.

      Note:
      • Do not excessively jack up the rear axle beam assembly.

      • When moving the rear axle beam assembly beyond full rebound, make sure that the beam is not out of position for more than 10 minutes.

      Tip:

      Support the rear shock absorber at a position where it compresses by approximately 20 to 30 mm (0.787 to 1.18 in.).

    2. C207278

      Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, secure the rear shock absorber rod and remove the lock nut.

      Remove the rear shock absorber cushion retainer.

  5. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION SUPPORT ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the rear suspension support.

  6. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the bolt while holding the nut and remove the rear shock absorber.

  7. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SPRING LH

    1. C184836

      Remove the rear bumper spring from the rear shock absorber.
