DESCRIPTION

DTC P0630 is stored when the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is not stored in the ECM, or the input VIN is incorrect. The VIN is input with the intelligent tester.

  • VIN is not stored in the ECM.

  • Input VIN is incorrect.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0630)


    1. Connect an intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the tester on.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.

    4. Read DTCs.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      P0630 A
      P0630 and other DTCs B

      If any DTCs other than P0630 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

      Note

      If P0630 is stored, the VIN must be input to the ECM using the intelligent tester. However, DTCs are cleared automatically by the tester when the VIN is input. If DTCs other than P0630 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.
