RADIATOR REMOVAL
PROCEDURE
DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for Intercooler)
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM (w/ Air Conditioning System)
for HFC-134a (R134a):Click here

REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH
REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH
Tip:Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY
REMOVE NO. 3 RADIATOR AIR GUIDE
REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSS MEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY
DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Air Conditioning System)
DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONER TUBE ASSEMBLY (w/ Air Conditioning System)
REMOVE CONDENSER WITH RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Air Conditioning System)
DISCONNECT NO. 4 TURBO WATER HOSE
DISCONNECT NO. 3 TURBO WATER HOSE
REMOVE ELECTRIC WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY
REMOVE BATTERY
Loosen the nut and disconnect the cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.

Remove the bolt, nut, battery clamp bolt and battery clamp sub-assembly.
Remove the battery insulator from the battery.
Remove the battery.
REMOVE BATTERY TRAY
Remove the battery tray.
REMOVE THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY
DISCONNECT NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the intercooler reserve tank assembly.
Disengage the clamp to disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the upper radiator support sub-assembly.

DISCONNECT NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

Disengage the clamp to disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass hose from the No. 2 intercooler water hose.
Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass hose from the intercooler reserve tank assembly.

DISCONNECT NO. 2 INTERCOOLER WATER HOSE

Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 intercooler water hose from the intercooler reserve tank assembly.

DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE
-
Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose from the water inlet with thermostat sub-assembly.

DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE
Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 1 radiator hose from the water outlet.
REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT

Remove the 2 bolts and 2 upper radiator supports.
Remove the radiator support cushion from each upper radiator support.

REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

for RHD:
Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly from the upper radiator support sub-assembly.
Disengage the clamp to disconnect the wire harness from the upper radiator support sub-assembly.

for LHD:
Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly from the upper radiator support sub-assembly.

Disengage the clamp to disconnect the wire harness from the upper radiator support sub-assembly. (w/ Engine Hood Courtesy Switch)

Remove the 4 bolts and upper radiator support sub-assembly.

REMOVE NO. 2 FAN SHROUD

Disengage the 4 clamps to disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the No. 2 fan shroud.
-
Remove the 2 bolts.
Disengage the 3 claws and remove the No. 2 fan shroud from the radiator assembly.

REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY AND FAN SHROUD ASSEMBLY
-
Disconnect the cooling fan ECU connector.
Disengage the 4 wire harness clamps.

Remove the radiator assembly and fan shroud assembly from the vehicle body.
Remove the 2 lower radiator supports.

REMOVE INTERCOOLER COOLING RADIATOR ASSEMBLY
REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

Slide the clip and remove the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the radiator assembly.
Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the No. 1 radiator hose from the fan shroud assembly.
Slide the clip and remove the No. 1 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.

Slide the clip and remove the water by-pass hose from the radiator assembly.
Slide the clip and remove the No. 2 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.
Disengage the 2 claws and remove the radiator assembly from the fan shroud assembly.
Note:Do not damage the radiator assembly when removing the fan shroud assembly.

REMOVE RADIATOR DRAIN COCK PLUG
Remove the radiator drain cock plug.
Remove the O-ring from the radiator drain cock plug.
