RADIATOR REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for Intercooler)

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  4. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM (w/ Air Conditioning System)

    for HFC-134a (R134a):Click here

    for HFO-1234yf (R1234yf):Click hereClick here

  5. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH

    Click here

  6. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

    Tip:

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE NO. 3 RADIATOR AIR GUIDE

    Click here

  9. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSS MEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  10. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Air Conditioning System)

  11. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONER TUBE ASSEMBLY (w/ Air Conditioning System)

  12. REMOVE CONDENSER WITH RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Air Conditioning System)

    Click here

  13. DISCONNECT NO. 4 TURBO WATER HOSE

    Click here

  14. DISCONNECT NO. 3 TURBO WATER HOSE

    Click here

  15. REMOVE ELECTRIC WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  16. REMOVE BATTERY

    1. Loosen the nut and disconnect the cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.

    2. A353834

      Remove the bolt, nut, battery clamp bolt and battery clamp sub-assembly.

    3. Remove the battery insulator from the battery.

    4. Remove the battery.

  17. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

    1. Remove the battery tray.

  18. REMOVE THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY

  19. DISCONNECT NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the intercooler reserve tank assembly.

    2. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the upper radiator support sub-assembly.

  20. DISCONNECT NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

      Disengage the clamp to disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass hose from the No. 2 intercooler water hose.

    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass hose from the intercooler reserve tank assembly.

  21. DISCONNECT NO. 2 INTERCOOLER WATER HOSE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 intercooler water hose from the intercooler reserve tank assembly.

  22. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

    1. A350079

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose from the water inlet with thermostat sub-assembly.

  23. DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE

    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 1 radiator hose from the water outlet.

  24. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 upper radiator supports.

    2. Remove the radiator support cushion from each upper radiator support.

  25. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

      for RHD:

      1. Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly from the upper radiator support sub-assembly.

      2. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the wire harness from the upper radiator support sub-assembly.

      for LHD:

      1. Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly from the upper radiator support sub-assembly.

        Disengage the clamp to disconnect the wire harness from the upper radiator support sub-assembly. (w/ Engine Hood Courtesy Switch)

      Remove the 4 bolts and upper radiator support sub-assembly.

  26. REMOVE NO. 2 FAN SHROUD

    1. A350084

      Disengage the 4 clamps to disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the No. 2 fan shroud.

    2. A350085

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    3. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the No. 2 fan shroud from the radiator assembly.

  27. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY AND FAN SHROUD ASSEMBLY

    1. A350086

      Disconnect the cooling fan ECU connector.

    2. Disengage the 4 wire harness clamps.

    3. A350122

      Remove the radiator assembly and fan shroud assembly from the vehicle body.

    4. Remove the 2 lower radiator supports.

  28. REMOVE INTERCOOLER COOLING RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

  29. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

    1. A350123

      Slide the clip and remove the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the radiator assembly.

    2. Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the No. 1 radiator hose from the fan shroud assembly.

    3. Slide the clip and remove the No. 1 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.

    4. A350124

      Slide the clip and remove the water by-pass hose from the radiator assembly.

    5. Slide the clip and remove the No. 2 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.

    6. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the radiator assembly from the fan shroud assembly.

      Note:

      Do not damage the radiator assembly when removing the fan shroud assembly.

  30. REMOVE RADIATOR DRAIN COCK PLUG

    1. Remove the radiator drain cock plug.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the radiator drain cock plug.
