INTAKE MANIFOLD INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL STUD BOLT (w/ Stud Bolt)


    1. Using an E6 "TORX" socket wrench, install the 2 stud bolts to the intake manifold.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }
  2. INSTALL NO. 1 INTAKE MANIFOLD TO HEAD GASKET


    1. Install a new No. 1 intake manifold to head gasket to the intake manifold.

  3. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD


    1. Install the engine cover joint to the intake manifold.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }
    2. Temporarily install the intake manifold stay and intake manifold with the 4 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Note

      When installing the intake manifold, if the end of the bolt that is holding the No. 2 alternator bracket in place interferes, remove the V-ribbed belt and loosen the bolt.

      Install and uniformly tighten the 4 bolts and 2 nuts in several steps.

      Torque:
      28 N*m  { 286 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf }
    4. Install the wire harness clamp bracket to the intake manifold with the bolt.

      Torque:
      15 N*m  { 153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }
    5. Connect the wire harness to the wire harness clamp bracket with the nut.

      Torque:
      7.7 N*m  { 79 kgf*cm, 68 in.*lbf }
    6. Connect the 2 wire harness clamps to the intake manifold.

  4. CONNECT NO. 1 VENTILATION HOSE


    1. Connect the No. 1 ventilation hose to the intake manifold, and slide the clamp to secure the hose.

  5. CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE


    1. Connect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose to the intake manifold.

  6. INSTALL VACUUM SENSOR BRACKET


    1. Install the vacuum sensor bracket to the intake manifold with the engine cover joint.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }
    2. Connect the vacuum hose to the intake manifold.

    3. Connect the 3 wire harness clamps to the intake manifold and vacuum sensor bracket.
