COOLER EXPANSION VALVE REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note:

When removing the cooler expansion valve by itself, be sure to install a new cooler expansion valve.

PROCEDURE

  1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

    for HFC-134a (R134a):

  2. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER

  3. REMOVE FRONT UPPER BUMPER SUPPORT

  4. DISCONNECT AIRCONDITIONER HOSE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY

    1. E294210

      Remove the bolt from radiator support sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the nut and disconnect the air conditioner hose and accessory assembly.

    3. Remove the 2 O-rings from the air conditioner hose and accessory assembly.

      Note:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  5. REMOVE COOLER EXPANSION VALVE

    1. E294212

      Using a 4 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the 2 hexagon bolts.

    2. Remove the cooler expansion valve.

      No. 1 Cooler Evaporator Sub-assembly

      Remove the 2 O-rings from the No. 1 cooler evaporator sub-assembly.
