REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL

2. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

3. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY

   1. for 2AD-FHV:

      Click here

   2. for 2AD-FTV:

   3. for 2AR-FE:

   4. for 3ZR-FAE:

   5. for 3ZR-FE:

   6. for 2WW:

4. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

   1. for 2AD-FHV:

      Click here

   2. for 2AD-FTV:

      Click here

   3. for 2AR-FE:

      Click here

   4. for 3ZR-FAE:

      Click here

   5. for 3ZR-FE:

      Click here

   6. for 2WW:

      Click here

5. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY

   Click here

6. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE LH

   

   1. Remove the 2 bolts and brace from the suspension member.

7. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE RH

   Tip:

   Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

8. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY

   1. 

      Disconnect the 2 harness clamps.

   2. Disconnect the connector.

   3. REmove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket.

   4. Remove the breather tube.

   5. 

      Support the rear differential carrier sub-assembly with a transmission jack or equivalent.

   6. Remove the 2 bolts labeled A and bolt labeled B.

   7. 

      Slowly lower the jack and then tilt the rear differential carrier sub-assembly.

9. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH

10. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH

    Tip:

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

11. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 AND NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT

    1. 

       Remove the 4 bolts and rear No. 1 and No. 2 differential supports from the rear differential carrier.

12. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT

    1. 

       Remove the 4 bolts and rear differential support from the rear differential carrier sub-assembly.
