REAR SHOCK ABSORBER INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION SUPPORT ASSEMBLY

   1. Install the rear suspension support assembly to the rear shock absorber assembly.

2. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION SUPPORT STOPPER

   1. Install the rear suspension support stopper to the rear shock absorber assembly.

3. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY

   1. Insert the upper end of the rear shock absorber assembly with the rear suspension support assembly and the rear suspension support stopper into the vehicle body.

   2. Temporarily install the rear shock absorber assembly to the rear axle beam assembly with the bolt.

   3.

      *b	Incorrect

      Install the rear suspension support.

      Note:

      Make sure that the rear suspension support is correctly installed as shown in the illustration.

   4. Install the rear shock absorber cushion retainer.

   5. While holding the piston rod, install a new nut (lower nut).

   6. Install a new nut (upper nut) to the lower nut.

   7. 

      Hold the lower nut and tighten the upper nut against it.

      24.5 N*m

      250 kgf*cm

      18 ft.*lbf

      Note:

      When tightening the upper nut, adjust the lower nut so that 3 to 5 threads of the piston rod are visible as shown by (A) in the illustration.

4. INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER CAP

   1. Install the rear shock absorber cap.

5. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY

6. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

   Click here

7. STABILIZE SUSPENSION

   1. Lower the vehicle.

   2. Bounce the vehicle up and down several times to stabilize the suspension.

8. INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY

   1. Install the rear shock absorber assembly with the bolt.

      48 N*m

      489 kgf*cm

      35 ft.*lbf

9. INSPECT REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
