AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1)

      Component without harness connected

      (Air Fuel Ratio Sensor)

      for Bank 1 Sensor 1:

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D18-1 (HA1A) - D18-2 (+B) 20°C (68°F) 1.6 to 3.2 Ω
      D18-3 (A1A+) - D18-4 (A1A-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the air fuel ratio sensor.

      Component without harness connected

      (Air Fuel Ratio Sensor)

      for Bank 1 Sensor 2:

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (for RHD)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D48-1 (HA1B) - D48-2 (+B) 20°C (68°F) 2 to 6 Ω
      D48-3 (A1B+) - D48-4 (A1B-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Standard Resistance (for LHD)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D48-1 (HA1B) - D48-2 (+B) 20°C (68°F) 2 to 6 Ω
      D49-1 (HA1B) - D49-2 (+B)
      D48-3 (A1B+) - D48-4 (A1B-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D49-3 (A1B+) - D49-4 (A1B-)

      If the result is not as specified, replace the air fuel ratio sensor.

  2. INSPECT AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 2)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D19-1 (HA2A) - D19-2 (+B) 20°C (68°F) 1.6 to 3.2 Ω
      D19-3 (A2A+) - D19-4 (A2A-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the air fuel ratio sensor.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the air fuel ratio sensor.
