LUBRICATION SYSTEM


  1. OUTLINE


    1. The lubrication circuit is fully pressurized and all oil passes through an oil filter.

    2. A trochoidal type oil pump assembly is driven by the crankshaft via the No. 2 chain sub-assembly.

    3. This engine has an oil return system in which the oil is force-fed to the upper cylinder head sub-assembly and returns to the oil pan through the oil return holes in the cylinder head sub-assembly.

    4. The camshaft timing oil control valve assembly controls the oil flow and supplies oil to the VVT-i controller (camshaft timing gear assembly).

    5. An oil filter with a replaceable element is used.
