  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides, except where indicated.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Click here

  2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

    Note

    If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, immediately wash it off.

  3. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  4. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE PAD

    Note

    Be sure to inspect the rear disc when replacing the rear disc brake pads with new ones.

      for RH side:


      1. Disconnect the pad wear indicator wire assembly RH connector from the rear speed sensor RH.

      2. Disconnect the pad wear indicator wire assembly RH from the 4 clamps of the rear wheel bearing dust deflector.

      3. Disconnect the bleeder plug cap portion of the pad wear indicator wire assembly RH from the rear disc brake bleeder plug.

      While pressing the area (A), push the hole pin (B) toward the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH, and remove the pin hold clip.

      While pressing the area (A), remove the No. 1 anti-rattle spring and 2 hole pins (B).

      Remove the 2 rear disc brake pads from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

      for RH side:


      1. Remove the pad wear indicator retainer and pad wear indicator wire assembly RH from the rear disc brake pad.

  5. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM

      *1 Rear Disc Brake Pad
      *2 No. 1 Anti-Squeal Shim
      *3 No. 2 Anti-Squeal Shim
      *4 Inner Anti-Rattle Spring

      Remove the No. 1 and No. 2 anti-squeal shims from each of the rear disc brake pads.

    2. Remove the inner anti-rattle springs from each of the rear disc brake pads.
