EGR COOLER REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

    1. Slide the 2 clips and remove the No. 2 water by-pass hose.

  3. REMOVE EGR PIPE WITH COOLER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the vacuum hose.

      Nut

      Remove the 6 bolts, 2 nuts and EGR pipe with cooler sub-assembly.

    3. Remove the 2 gaskets from the No. 1 EGR pipe sub-assembly and EGR pipe with cooler sub-assembly.

      O-ring

      Remove the O-ring from the EGR pipe with cooler sub-assembly.

      Nut

      Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and No. 1 EGR pipe sub-assembly.

    6. Remove the gasket from the No. 2 EGR valve assembly.

      Remove the No. 2 EGR valve assembly and gasket from the EGR pipe with cooler sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE STUD BOLT

    Tip:

    If a stud bolt is deformed or the threads are damaged, replace it.

      Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts from the EGR pipe with cooler sub-assembly.
