PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT MASS AIR FLOW METER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Read the value of Data List item "Mass Air Flow Sensor" using the GTS.

      Note


      • Perform the inspection with the vehicle indoors and on a level surface.

      • Perform the inspection of the mass air flow meter sub-assembly while it is installed to the air cleaner cap sub-assembly (installed to the vehicle).


      1. Warm up the engine.

      2. Turn the A/C switch off.

      3. Turn the engine switch off.

      4. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      5. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

      6. Turn the GTS on.

      7. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Mass Air Flow Sensor.


        Powertrain > Engine > Data List
        Tester Display
        Mass Air Flow Sensor
      8. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List when the engine is running.

        Standard Condition
        Tester Display Condition Specified Condition
        Mass Air Flow Sensor Idling 2.0 to 5.0 gm/sec
        2500 rpm 18.0 to 22.0 gm/sec
        3000 rpm 28.0 to 34.0 gm/sec

        If the result is not as specified, replace the mass air flow meter sub-assembly.

        If the result is within the specified range, unfasten and inspect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly.

        Fasten the mass air flow meter sub-assembly again after the inspection.
