  1. CONSTRUCTION


    1. Pistons made of a lightweight aluminum alloy with high rigidity are used. Also, the thickness of the pistons has been optimized. Weight reduction is achieved while high reliability is ensured.

    2. The shape of the top surface of the pistons has been optimized and a compact combustion chamber is provided to achieve stable combustion by generating a high tumble flow.

    3. A surface treatment with superior seize resistance is used with a resin coating for the piston skirts to ensure scuffing resistance and low friction.

    4. For EURO VId-TEMP and CHINA VI models, the skirt portion of the piston has a newly developed resin coating to ensure a smooth surface and good fit.

    5. A Ni-resist anti-friction ring carrier is used in the top ring groove to ensure strength and wear resistance. Also, the anti-friction ring carrier is offset. As a result, the compression height is reduced.

    6. The size of the anti-friction ring carrier has been optimized to achieve weight reduction.

    7. An alumite treatment is used in the second ring groove to support high temperatures.

    8. The shape of the oil ring expander has been optimized. The structure of the oil ring expander uses steps to enhance the flow of oil around the parts surrounded by the expander and side rail and make it more difficult for deposits to accumulate.
