  1. FUNCTION


    1. The theft deterrent system has the following functions:

      Function Outline
      Main Body ECU (Network Gateway ECU)
      • Controls the system by various switch signals it receives.

      • The security indicator light blinks or lights up during auto-alarm alert or an alarm.

      • Outputs the turn signal flasher activation signal, map light activation signal, headlight activation signal, taillight activation signal, high pitched horn assembly and low pitched horn assembly sound signal if illicit entry is detected while the vehicle is in auto-alarm alert mode.

      Combination Meter Assembly Is equipped with a security indicator light.
      Turn Signal Flasher Assembly The hazard warning lights blinks during an alarm.
      Headlight Relay The headlights blinks during an alarm.
      Taillight Relay The taillights blinks during an alarm.
      Map Light Assembly The map light lights up during an alarm.
      Horn Assembly The horn sounds up during an alarm.
  2. OPERATION


    1. Basic Operation

      The theft deterrent system automatically acknowledges the vehicle state according to the conditions of the electrical key, each door, and luggage compartment door, etc. As the diagram shown below, the system selects the disarmed state, arming preparation state, armed state, or alarm sounding state according to various conditions. These states are indicated by turning off/on or blinking of the security indicator light.

    2. State Content

      State Item
      Disarmed state A state where the theft deterrent system is not set (theft detection is impossible) or the alarm is deactivated (do not perform theft detection).
      Arming preparation state A state of standby from the time when a set condition for the theft deterrent system is satisfied to the time until the system is actually set (do not perform theft detection).
      Armed state A state where the theft deterrent system is set (theft detection is possible).
      Alarm sounding state A state where an act of theft is detected and the system is exhibiting alarm with the map light, hazard warning lights, headlights, taillights, and horn (alarm continues 60 seconds).
    3. State Transition

      Condition Item
      Condition (1)

      All conditions are met:


      • (ACC) and (IG) are turned off, or the remote engine start system* is activated

      • All doors are closed

      • Luggage compartment door closed

      • All doors locked by wireless or entry door lock operation

      Condition (2) Allow approx. 30 seconds to elapse.
      Condition (3)

      Any conditions are met:


      • All doors unlocked by wireless or entry unlock operation

      • Any door is unlocked

      • Any door is opened

      • Push the push start switch

      • (IG) is turned on and the remote engine start system* is deactivated

      • (ACC) is turned on and the remote engine start system* is deactivated

      • The battery is reconnected.

      Condition (4)

      Any conditions are met:


      • The luggage compartment door is opened when the luggage compartment door is closed.

      • Any door is opened when all doors are closed.

      • Any door is unlocked when all doors are locked.

      • While the remote engine start system* is deactivated, after at least five seconds elapsed from the state where the push start switch is not pushed, (IG) is turned from off to on.

      • The battery is reconnected with the state other than the remote engine start system* is activated.

      Condition (5)

      Any conditions are met:


      • While (IG) is turned on and the remote engine start system* is deactivated, the engine revolution count of 550 rpm or higher continues 2 to 4 seconds.

      • All doors unlocked by wireless or entry unlock operation

      Condition (6) After approx. 60 seconds, alarm stops and system returns to armed state.
      Condition (7) The luggage compartment door is opened by wireless or entry luggage compartment door open operation.
      Condition (8) The luggage compartment door is closed when the luggage compartment door is opened.
      Condition (9)

      Any conditions are met:


      • Any door is unlocked when all doors are locked.

      • Any door is opened

      • Push the push start switch

      • (IG) is turned on and the remote engine start system* is deactivated

      • (ACC) is turned on and the remote engine start system* is deactivated

      • All doors unlocked by wireless or entry unlock operation

      • The battery is reconnected.

      Condition (10)

      All conditions are met:


      • (IG) is turned off or the remote engine start system* is activated.

      • When all doors are closed and luggage compartment door is open, all doors are locked by wireless or entry lock operation.

      Condition (11)

      Any conditions are met:


      • Luggage compartment door opened

      • Luggage compartment door opened by wireless or entry luggage compartment door open operation


      • *: Optional equipped with remote engine start system

    4. Security Indicator Light
