STEERING ANGLE SENSOR REMOVAL
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
The procedures listed below are for LHD vehicles.
Do not remove the steering angle sensor from the spiral cable.

PRECAUTION
Note:After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Click hereClick hereClick hereClick hereClick here).
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Note:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click hereClick hereClick hereClick hereClick hereClick here).
PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE WITH STEERING ANGLE SENSOR
Remove the spiral cable with steering angle sensor.
for Single Type:
for Dual Type:
Note:Do not replace spiral cable with steering angle sensor with the battery connected and the ignition switch ON.
Do not rotate the spiral cable with steering angle sensor with the battery connected and the ignition switch ON.
w/ Vehicle Stability Control System:
Ensure that the steering wheel is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering angle sensor.
Do not remove the steering angle sensor from the spiral cable.
